Autumn is in the air. The summer heat has faded away, and snow flurries are already beginning to fall in some areas of the U.S. This time of year is perfect for trying new recipes, whether you’re a novice foodie or simply want add something special to the Thanksgiving table. And, with the addition of CBD into each of these, you can explore the benefits of the supplement in a unique way. Give these four CBD dishes and drinks a try this fall to transform the season into something special.
Hemp Crusted Salmon

Salmon is a healthy dinner option that contains rich amounts of omega 3 essential fatty acids, as do hemp hearts. Combining these two foods enriches the body with essential amino acids, and the crust features many beneficial nutrients (as well as CBD) for an added boost of positive energy at the end of the day:
Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Coat each salmon fillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil plus your preferred dosage of CBD oil and rest on baking sheet.
Combine 1 tablespoon of hemp hearts, 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese (or a nondairy cheese of your choice), a sprinkle of lemon thyme, basil, and fresh lemon juice plus zest for each salmon fillet. Spread the hemp heart mixture over the fillets evenly.
Bake fillets at 400°F, then broil for one minute for a nice crunchy texture.
CBD-Infused Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolate is an unmistakable part of autumn. It is the ultimate dessert drink to wind down in the evening or enjoy in front of a bonfire. If you want to enjoy hot chocolate even more, try this CBD-infused recipe:
Pour eight ounces of your milk of choice into a small saucepan and stir on medium heat, until you see steam rising from the pan. Tip: If you don’t drink dairy, oat milk works very well with this recipe.
Next, add 2 tablespoons of your favorite hot chocolate mix, OR 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder; 4 teaspoons of sugar or stevia; ¼ teaspoon of butter; and a pinch of cinnamon to the heated milk.
Once combined where no powder chunks can be seen, pour into a mug and add your preferred dosage of CBD oil to the drink.
Brownies are historically a “420-friendly” dessert. However, they can certainly be made with hemp extract rather than CBD’s psychoactive cousin, THC. These rich, melt-in-your-mouth CBD brownies are very easy to make:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine 1 ¼ cups of white sugar, ¼ cup of water, and 2 ounces (approximately ¼ cup) of unsweetened chocolate in a saucepan and melt on medium-low heat. Be careful to not let the chocolate burn by constantly stirring it and removing from heat just before all the chocolate and sugar melt. Tip: A rubber spatula works best for stirring and scraping out the chocolate later.
Next, combine ⅓ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, ½ cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips (depending on how rich you want your brownies to be), ¼ teaspoon of baking powder, and ⅛ (about a pinch) of salt in a large mixing bowl. Combine two large eggs, ½ cup of vegetable oil, your preferred dosage of CBD oil, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into a second bowl and beat lightly.
Stir in egg and oil mix into dry ingredients, then add the melted chocolate mixture to the bowl and mix until just combined. Pour into a lined 8×8 baking dish and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
CBD-Infused Lavender Latte
If you love designer coffee shop drinks but don’t want to pay a hefty price to get them, this is the perfect latte for you. Lavender syrup can be bought online for less than $15 a bottle and will produce 50+ lattes. Plus, you don’t need any fancy equipment to make one:
Make 2oz espresso or heat 2 oz of coffee concentrate and pour into your mug, Add your preferred dosage of CBD oil to the coffee. Tip: You can use espresso powder for this recipe, but they are often more bitter than traditional espressos or coffee concentrate. A freshly brewed dark roast coffee will also do.
Next, froth 6 oz of your milk of choice (heated) along with 1-2 tablespoons of lavender syrup. If you don’t have a milk frother, pour your milk and lavender syrup into a glass jar, close the lid and shake very well until the milk starts to produce bubbles. Next, microwave the milk on high for 20 seconds. Honey, brown sugar, or even a pinch of thyme can be added at this step if desired.
Pour your milk and syrup mixture over the coffee, and enjoy!
