Sunsoil, formerly known as Green Mountain CBD, was founded by childhood friends Alejandro Bergad and Jacob Goldstein. From their farming methods, to their business partnership, to the quality of product they provide to friends, family, and the market—this business feels personal.
Sunsoil’s hemp is farmed and extracted in Northeast Vermont, not far from where the founders Alejandro and Jacob currently live. After spending a year as Chief Agricultural Officer at one of the largest CBD producing hemp farms in the United States, Alejandro Bergad decided to bring his knowledge home. He developed organic farming methods that give Sunsoil a big advantage: they produce more CBD per acre, and more efficiently, than most other people in the industry. Simple, organic farming and processing yields a premium CBD oil while keeping costs down.
The founders assured us, “You can expect the same care, quality and service as our friends and family who are among the many people that take our oil.”
Finally you can shop for CBD with confidence. Our product testing is among the most comprehensive in the industry and includes label accuracy, pesticides, heavy metals, bacteria, mycotoxins, and terpenes. Look for the Remedy Review Seal when buying CBD and be sure you’re buying a quality product.

Remedy Review is constantly working to make the review of hemp-derived products less subjective. That’s why we aim to put numbers around quality, value, and transparency. We also know it helps to hear what a real person thinks about a product before you spend your money. These Editor’s Notes are the opinion of our staff—not a suggestion from the brand and definitely not medical advice.
This American based company grows hemp on farms located in Hardwick, Vermont—close enough to feel like it’s a part of the co-founder’s backyards.
Sunsoil wins points for flavor, and we especially enjoyed the taste of their chocolate mint CBD oil. Under the name Sunsoil, the brand also launched a new cinnamon flavor to go alongside their chocolate mint. The cinnamon CBD oil has gotten good feedback as well, if you’re looking for a good tasting CBD oil.
Despite the recent change in name, it’s easy to find Sunsoil’s website and their available products. Their online store is very simple in it’s design, and customers can see the potency, price, and flavor options of each product for quick comparisons.
Sunsoil does have a very small product offering, but this can be a big plus if you are looking for a trusted brand that makes a few quality products. However, it may be difficult to find everything you’re looking for if you’re new to CBD and want to try a various delivery methods.
Sunsoil uses ProVerde Labs (a trusted testing facility used by many industry leaders) to analyze their CBD extracts and ensure they are free of pesticides, heavy metals, and contain the the right CBD potency. These certificates of analysis are easily accessible on the brand’s website, and can be found under the tab labeled “Lab Results”.
In light of their recent name change, Sunsoil sent out a letter to customers to notify them. This letter said that Green Mountain CBD would become Sunsoil as a way to resolve a trademark issue, and ultimately allow them to better protect customers. You can read the letter here.
This is a brand that believes in doing things right without cutting corners. We like how Sunsoil focuses on creating a few well-made products instead of trying to supply a slew of different application styles for the sake of variety. Their CBD products are also some of the least expensive in terms of cost per milligram.
