For Green Mountain CBD, CBD oil is personal. From the farm in the co-founders Vermont back yard, to their business partnership, to the quality of product they provide to friends, family, and the market—this business feels personal.

Green Mountain CBD is farmed and extracted in Northeast Vermont—not far from where the founders Alejandro Bergad and Jacob Goldstein grew up as childhood friends. After spending a year as Chief Agricultural Officer at one of the largest CBD producing hemp farms in the United States, Alejandro Bergad decided to bring his knowledge home. He developed organic farming methods that give Green Mountain CBD a big advantage: they produce more CBD per acre, and more efficiently, than most other people in the industry. Simple, organic farming and processing yields a premium CBD oil while keeping costs down.

The founders assure us, “You can expect the same care, quality and service as our friends and family who are among the many people that take our oil.”

Note: Green Mountain is now Sunsoil. While the name has changed, the products are largely the same. The name was changed to resolve a trademark issue, according to a letter to customers.

Editor’s Notes

Remedy Review is constantly working to make the review of hemp-derived products less subjective. That’s why we aim to put numbers around quality, value, and transparency. We also know it helps to hear what a real person thinks about a product before you spend your money. These Editor’s Notes are the opinion of our staff—not a suggestion from the brand and definitely not medical advice.

  • 👅 / Green Mountain wins points for flavor. Along with Populum, they’re one of the better tasting CBD oils.
  • 🇺🇸 / Sourced from Vermont, this is an American company that grows hemp in their backyard.
  • ProVerde (a testing facility used by many industry leaders) lab results are easily accessible on the website.
  • Green Mountain also sells CBD capsules, and test results for those products are also available on the site.
  • This is a brand that believes in doing things right without cutting corners.
  • Their products are one of the least expensive in terms of cost per milligram.
  • Green Mountain does have a very small product offering.
    • This is a big plus if you believe in companies that do one thing well.
    • It’s a negative if you’re new to CBD and looking to try a number of delivery mechanisms to find the product that’s right for you.
  • In a letter to customers, Green Mountain said changing their name resolved a trademark issue and allowed them to better protect customers. Under the name Sunsoil, the brand launched a new cinnamon flavor to go alongside their chocolate mint. The cinnamon CBD has gotten strong reviews around the office if you’re looking for a good tasting CBD.
