Bluebird Botanicals was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 2012 by Brandon J. Beatty, an entrepreneur and cannabis advocate. Today, advocacy remains a pillar of the brand.
Bluebird Botanicals admirably devotes their time and resources to supporting the accessibility of high-quality hemp. As believers in the benefits and bright future of hemp, Bluebird Botanicals is on the board of directors of the influential hemp non-profit, The U.S. Hemp Roundtable, whose purpose is to protect all aspects of the hemp industry—at the state and federal levels—through legislative and regulatory avenues.
CEO Brandon J Beatty also co-founded the Industrial Hemp Research Foundation, a Colorado-based non-profit dedicated to initiating, supporting, and overseeing hemp related research at state universities. These are two of a long and growing list of partnerships in the hemp industry.
Bluebird Botanicals offers a wide range of products—from CBD oil to vape oil to CBD pet products. All products abide the company’s commitment to quality and customer service.

Order experience: The online store is easy to use. It features product images and drop-down menus to select the size of the product you want. Free shipping on orders over $49 to most US states (there are a few exceptions, including South Dakota).
Distinctly peppery, spicier than other CBD oil brands
Remedy Review is constantly working to make the review of hemp-derived products less subjective. That’s why we aim to put numbers around quality, value, and transparency. We also know it helps to hear what a real person thinks about a product before you spend your money. These Editor’s Notes are the opinion of our staff—not a suggestion from the brand and definitely not medical advice.
Take a look around the website and you’re struck by the commitment to product testing and quality control.
Few brands post such robust test results with individual batch numbers.
Some brands post annual results, versus batch numbers.
This offers a lot of comfort in an emerging market where opportunity and demand are enticing brands to cut corners.
Bluebird employees are believers. Talking to them you get a sense that they want to stand at the forefront of industry change, quality standards, and the reemergence of hemp as a food and nutrition source for people—how it was dating back centuries.
Talking with Katie Thompson, Bluebird’s Director of Sales, she was passionate about creating products that contribute to the betterment of people, with a focus on nutrition. She encouraged us to look at the market and “ask if products make sense.” Like, should a potential health supplement come in a sweet, sugary gummy?
Bluebird’s quality control system forces them to look at the entire supply chain and build processes that protect the quality of their product from soil to shipping. Messing up anywhere, Thompson said, is “messing with someone’s health.”
You won’t find a lot of health claims on Bluebird’s site, or about their products. They’re vocal in defense of hemp and quiet about the impact of hemp-derived treatments on the end user. Thompson told Remedy Review this was in keeping with industry regulation, but also because these products work differently for everybody and it would be unwise to suggest otherwise. Also potentially damaging to create a false hope around serious conditions.
👅 / “Peppery” is a good way to describe the flavor. It reminds you of a very peppery potato chip almost. It’s not a flavor you’d love to snack on, rather it’s strong enough to cover the natural taste of the hemp.
Flavor is a regular issue for people, and rightfully so. We’re used to buying food products with a lot of additives that taste good and not used to consuming cannabis derivatives. Another way to look at flavor is through a health lens. You would buy a product you believed to be clean and natural that also tasted bad before you would buy a great tasting product of mysterious origin.
🇺🇸 / American-sourced hemp from Colorado, a state with legal recreational cannabis and therefore, we can assume, greater processes in place to regulate this emerging hemp industry.
