Our Experience
Bluebird employees are believers. When talking to them, you get a sense that they want to stand at the forefront of industry change, quality standards, and the reemergence of hemp as a food and nutrition source for people—how it was dating back centuries.
In our conversation with Katie Thompson, Bluebird’s Director of Sales, she was passionate about creating products that contribute to the betterment of people, with a focus on nutrition. She encouraged us to look at the market and “ask if products make sense.” Like, should a potential health supplement come in a sweet, sugary gummy?
Lab Testing 🔬
Bluebird’s quality control system forces them to look at the entire supply chain and build processes that protect the quality of their product from soil to shipping. Messing up anywhere is “messing with someone’s health,” said Thompson.
Their commitment to product testing and quality control is made apparent by their lab test results for individual, batch-specific numbers. This offers a lot of comfort in an emerging market where opportunity and demand are enticing brands to cut corners.
Pros 👍🏽
- American-sourced hemp
- Wide range of products available
- Mission-driven organization that supports cannabis science research, medicine, and wellbeing
- One of the more robust batch testing operations we’ve come across
Cons 👎🏽
- Names like “classic,” “complete,” and “signature” can be confusing for those that are unfamiliar with Bluebird CBD oils
- If you want CBD gummies, you’ll want to try a different brand
Overall Opinion
You won’t find a lot of health claims on Bluebird’s site, or about their products. They’re vocal in defense of hemp and quiet about the impact of hemp-derived treatments on the end user. This is in line with industry regulation, but it also reinforces the notion that these products work differently for everybody, and reduces the chance of raising false hopes when it comes to serious conditions.
Bluebird Botanicals Brand Story
Bluebird Botanicals was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 2012 by Brandon J. Beatty, an entrepreneur and cannabis advocate. Today, advocacy remains a pillar of the brand.
Bluebird Botanicals admirably devotes their time and resources to supporting the accessibility of high-quality hemp. As believers in the benefits and bright future of hemp, Bluebird Botanicals is on the board of directors of the influential hemp non-profit, The U.S. Hemp Roundtable, whose purpose is to protect all aspects of the hemp industry—at the state and federal levels—through legislative and regulatory avenues.
CEO Brandon J Beatty also co-founded the Industrial Hemp Research Foundation, a Colorado-based non-profit dedicated to initiating, supporting, and overseeing hemp related research at state universities. These are two of a long and growing list of partnerships in the hemp industry.
Bluebird Botanicals offers a wide range of products—from oil and CBD capsules to vape oil and CBD for pets, there’s something for everyone. All products abide the company’s commitment to quality and customer service.
