Whether its a story on the nightly news or a promoted instagram post in your feed, you’ve probably heard a lot about CBD oil. This trendy wellness supplement has caused a lot of debate in both the cannabis and general wellness communities, and search interest in CBD products is continually on the rise.

Preferences differ when it comes to wellness supplementation, especially in the world of CBD where there is a new product on the market everyday. This got us thinking, what are the most popular CBD products in every state?

We did a little digging with the help of Google Trends and we have an answer for you. Keep on reading to find out your state’s most popular CBD application style.

CBD oil was by far the most popular product, winning 30 states in total. This comes as no surprise given that CBD oil is the most well-known product style, and nearly all CBD brands start by first making tinctures, and then expanding into other product categories.

The overall interest in CBD oil was overwhelming, but one state stood out amongst the rest when it came to search interest on the topic, and that state was Alabama. Not only did Alabama beat out every other state to win the title of “Most Interested in CBD Oil,” but they also were the only state to have a tie between two different products. The residents of Alabama were almost as interested in CBD gummies and CBD vape as they were in CBD oil.

The other states that were most interested in a particular product include:

  • Hawaii — Most Interested in CBD Gummies
  • Massachusets — Most Interested in CBD Cream
  • Mississippi — Most Interested in CBD Vape
  • Washington — Most Interested in CBD Capsules
  • Colorado — Most Interested in CBD Isolate

It seems like people in the Northeast really enjoy their CBD gummies based on their Google searching habits, and who can blame them? Gummies are an easy and tasty way to get a quick dose of CBD. The Northeast was the only region in the U.S. to have more searches for a product style that outweighed the interest in CBD oils.

Another interesting find comes from the South, where all five states that were most interested in CBD vapes hailed from. Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and West Virginia were the only states where CBD vape products were the most popular.

The West had the most diverse interest among different CBD product styles, including the only state with the highest search interest in CBD isolate: Colorado. We found this to be an intriguing find since the state was one of the first to legalize recreational marijuana. This means that full spectrum cannabis derivatives (both containing THC and CBD) are completely legal and readily available to residents, yet people were most interested in finding the complete opposite of those products by searching for CBD isolate.

Are you looking for CBD products?

Whether you opt for a soothing CBD cream, a delicious gummy, or a more traditional CBD oil tincture, these hemp extracts can be a truly beneficial way to enhance your overall wellness. However, it’s important to find the right brands to buy from so you know you are getting the best CBD products. The CBD market can be a confusing place, but with the right guidance, you can find something that you really love. So stop sitting on the sidelines while the rest of the country indulges in CBD, and find something that works for you!

Methodology

We searched Google Trends data from the past year (date range November 21, 2018 through November 21, 2019) to find the most search interest among different CBD products. We narrowed down our research to include the top six delivery methods of CBD, and the most popular product for each state was found by comparing values that were attributed by Google for each search term (i.e. CBD oil, CBD Gummies, CBD cream, etc).
